On His New Book with the Dalai Lama Presented by Greater Good Magazine A unique bond formed between the Dalai Lama and Paul Ekman when the two first met in 2000. The leader of Tibetan Buddhism and the renowned Western-trained scientist soon realized that despite their different educational and religions backgrounds, they shared the same motivation for analyzing emotions: a commitment to reducing human suffering. Following their first encounter, the two men spent 40 hours in discussion over three subsequent meetings, believing that the combined insight of Buddhism and Western psychology would lead to new understandings of human emotion. These groundbreaking conversations are captured in their new book, Emotional Awareness: Overcoming the Obstacles to Psychological Balance and Compassion. As they discuss the roots of love, compassion, anger, and morality, the two men offer stunning insight into what unifies us all. At this free event, Ekman–one of the world’s foremost authorities on emotions and facial expressions, and a member of Greater Good magazine’s editorial board–will present highlights from their discussions, accompanied by photos and audio excerpts from his conversations with the Dalai Lama. I thought I'd share my favorite song of the month:) Lyrics-Someone call the doctor because a fever is about to write me a prescription for healing that can not be found. Doctors can not perscribe the medicine by pulling for you, it just does not exist cos its the lovebug catching you, do not cure this disease, it will not rely on blue, the feeling, its so contagious, its the lovebug catching you. So contagious, lovebug catching you. Someone call the doctor, there's a fever goingRound, write me a prescription for healing that can not be found, that suffering need not healing, it will not leave the blue, the feeling, its so contagious, lovebug catching you. It is the friend next to your shoulder, you stab in the back, do not pay to enemies who come to you on the attack to support no antidote nor expert treatment note, here's an error your system does not resist, it takes mass participation to make each piece to correct, lovebug circulation, yes a medical success, lovebug antidote immunization for the best, here is a bug thats gonna your system to the test.
